PSV's Sneaker Soiree: Fall's Main Event Returns
In 2019, PSV hosted the first Soiree on the rooftop of Netflix headquarters in Hollywood. Roughly 250 guests danced to DJ Benjamin while enjoying a delightful buffet, amazing red carpet, online and silent auction, interactive art installation, photo booth and our first PSV Sneaker Contest. The event was capped off with PSV-branded swag bags for guests which included a coupon for complementary Super Heroic Sneakers and more. See images from that first year here and here.
The next year PSV pivoted because of COVID. We hosted our first and only virtual Sneaker Soiree. With the help of not one, but two, amazing DJs, DJ Benjamin and Club Quarantine's DNice, 270 virtual homes tuned in for a December Soiree that was nothing short of amazing! We once again enjoyed a virtual photo booth, online auction, a virtual PSV Sneaker Contest, and we secured our first major gift of $25,000 that evening thanks to Cookie & Earvin "Magic" Johnson (who joined us online for the virtual affair). ​​
Then, with COVID still looming, we rescheduled the PSV Sneaker Soiree from November 2021 to May 2022 and hosted an amazing event for 300 guests on the backlot of Universal Studios in Hollywood. Multiple Black-owned food trucks, a 360 photo booth, interactive art, sneaker design installation, the sounds of DJ Benjamin and of course the PSV Sneaker Contest were highlights of the outdoor event. Last year this community-favorite event grew to 500+ Black and Brown members of the private school community! DJ Mal-Ski turned it out for a memorable evening at Second Home Hollywood and we raised important funds for PSV's newly-launched elementary school scholarship, The Village Scholarship. This first-of-its-kind scholarship provides partial elementary school tuition for families in Los Angeles private schools from low income households. Now, PSV is returning our annual fundraising and friend-raising event back to the Fall and you won't want to miss it! On Saturday, November 2, 2024, we will gather in person for the 6th Anniversary of PSV Sneaker Soiree.

In true PSV fashion, the Soiree isn't your typical school-related fundraising event -- it's a party with a purpose, an experience, a flashback to when we were younger and there were parties in dark basements when the music made you dance like no one was watching. This year we will once again acknowledge the Affinity Group/Parent Program of the Year and the Teacher/Administrator of the Year as nominated by the PSV community. Together, private school parents, faculty, staff and administrators will celebrate, once again, the unique community created by PSV while raising funds for our amazing mission. ​
